I am dipping my big toe back into the world of blogging. To be quite honest, I missed it.
Why did I leave? I felt like I had nothing to talk about.
Now I have something to talk about. The remodeling gods have smiled kindly on me. I am getting a room remodeled!
The house thing. I bounce back and forth with buying a new home. I'm torn. First, I realllly like my mortgage payment. Second, I am not sure where I would want to buy. Third, I love my neighbors. Finally, did I mention that I like my mortgage payment? I am also trying to figure out where I will ultimately end up. At some point in my life, I imagine that I will move closer to my sisters (Atlanta, Charlotte, or Jacksonville). I am so confused that it doesn't make sense to make a rash decision now.
I figure that I could do a partial-DIY/sweat equity/low cost remodel to finish off a 10' by 20' space that I have in my lower level. I am not moving walls, adding plumbing lines or anything. Just framing, electrical, enclose the walls and ceiling, paint, add some flooring, and molding job.
I have a planner coming out to measure and design. I am going to paint the walls and ceilings. I don't mind painting empty rooms.
I have no answers. I do have a plan. I have a timeline. I just don't have the labor squared away. I also have a handy-dandy decorating board.
The decorating gods have also smiled kindly on me. My mother is gifting me with her two-year old sofa. She bought it at Crate and Barrel. It doesn't fit her style, but honey it fits mine!!!
